Univac History


The UNIVAC I (Universal Automatic Computer I) was the first commercial computer produced in the UNITED STATES. It was designed principally by J.Presper Eckert and John Mauchly, the inventors of the ENIAC.

The UNIVAC was the first commercially available computer in which the computation time for addition was 120 microseconds and for multiplication was 1,800 microseconds for division was 3,600 microseconds.
